Pilates

The techniques used in Pilates concentrate on strengthening, lengthening and toning muscles as well as improving posture, balance and flexibility.

The fabulous thing about Pilates is that once you understand and can "engage" the technique in class you can then roll it out to all areas of your life. It not only makes you stronger, but you become so aware of your body and how to use it that you can eliminate so many of your old postural bad habits. If you also attend Body Conditioning Classes you can use the Pilates techniques to better stabilise your body whilst lifting weight. Pilates also shows you how to breath efficiently and relax properly, an essential for anyone feeling stress in their daily life. You

This class takes place in a warm room, with soft lighting and scented candles to deepen the experience. Based on the techniques of Joseph Pilates it is designed to enhance the posture, strength, balance and stability of a healthy adult. This is NOT a rehabilitation class. Andrea is qualified to teach Pilates Mat work but she is NOT a medical practitioner. Come and try it, learn about the latest scientific research into the benefits of this method of exercising and find out what Pilates CAN REALLY do for you.
